Our Brown Hat & Coat Sitting Gonk brings a sweet, gingerbread-inspired charm to your Christmas decorating, in warm biscuit brown, red and white.
You might not know that gonks are based on Scandinavian folklore, where they are known as Tomte in Sweden and Nisse in Norway and Denmark. They are mythical gnome-like beings that protect homes and farms, especially at Christmas, and they are considered protectors that bring luck. They could also get mischievous if not treated well, so traditionally you would leave them a bowl of porridge at Christmas.
He wears a tall, chunky knitted hat in biscuit brown, decorated with two red and white peppermint sweets, over a long fluffy white beard and a round nose. His soft brown coat opens over a red body trimmed with white icing-style ric-rac, and his striped knitted legs dangle down to fluffy brown boots.
