Product Description
Our Grey Christmas Gonk With Wooden Tree brings a cosy, Scandi-inspired charm to your festive decor, with a soft neutral palette that feels warm and welcoming.
Gonks are based on Scandinavian folklore, where they are known as Tomte in Sweden and Nisse in Norway and Denmark. These mythical little beings were said to protect homes and farms, especially at Christmas, bringing good luck to the household - though they could turn mischievous if not treated well, which is why a bowl of porridge was traditionally left out for them at Christmas.
He wears a tall, chunky knitted hat in soft grey, dotted with white pom-poms and pulled low over his eyes. A long, fluffy faux fur beard falls over his plush grey body, with a round wooden nose and little felt feet completing his character. Tucked behind him is a flat wooden Christmas tree decorated with white painted dots.
He sits happily on a mantelpiece, windowsill, shelf, sideboard or festive table.
Perfect for living rooms, hallways and kitchens, our Grey Christmas Gonk With Wooden Tree suits both modern and rustic Christmas schemes, and makes a lovely gift for anyone who loves Nordic-style decor.
