Product Description
Our Large Grey Stripy Gonk brings a soft, calm Scandi feel to your Christmas decorating, and at this size he makes a real statement in grey and cream.
The gonk comes from Scandinavian folklore, where he is called Tomte in Sweden and Nisse in Norway and Denmark. These gnome-like little beings were believed to protect homes and farms, especially at Christmas, bringing good luck to the households that looked after them. Treat one badly and he could turn mischievous, so families would leave out a bowl of porridge for him at Christmas.
He wears a tall, soft grey velvet hat with a curled tip, pulled down low over his eyes. A long, fluffy faux fur beard in cream with grey tips frames his round nose, and his grey and cream striped knitted legs dangle down to soft grey velvet feet.
His long dangling legs let him perch on the edge of a mantelpiece, sideboard or shelf, or sit beside the tree. He is also available as our Small Grey Stripy Gonk, and the pair look lovely together.
Perfect for living rooms, hallways and bedrooms, our Large Grey Stripy Gonk suits grey, white and Scandi-style Christmas schemes.
