An elegant 18th-century lady rises from the top of the egg, with powdered hair, a feathered headpiece and a raspberry red bodice trimmed with turquoise ruffles, her arms held out gracefully. Her skirt forms the egg itself, decorated with a gold lattice over rich red and pink panels, swirls of gold scrollwork and turquoise accents, all standing on an ornate gold pedestal base.
