Our Sherwood range is built from solid oak and finished in a deep, warm stain that draws the grain out and gives every piece a quietly rustic character.
The pieces are substantial rather than delicate - generous tops, solid timber rather than veneered board, and a smooth finish that shows the natural variation in the wood.
Every drawer in the range is dovetailed. That means the drawer front is locked into the sides rather than just being dowelled or screwed. This type of joint stops a front working loose and coming away in your hand after a few years of pulling. It is not something you can see once the drawer is shut, which is precisely why cheaper furniture does without it.
Metal handles in a soft antique brass finish complete the look.

Our Sherwood Dark Solid Oak 7 Drawer Wide Chest is the largest chest in the range, offering seven drawers across a low, wide frame that suits a bedroom with a wall to fill.
Two banks of smaller drawers sit above the full-width drawers below, giving you somewhere sensible for the small things as well as the folded ones.
At nearly 1.4 metres across and low enough to sit comfortably beneath a window or a wall mirror, it works as a dressing chest as much as a storage one - the long top takes a mirror, a lamp and a tray without feeling crowded.
It sits well with our Sherwood 5 Drawer Tall Chest where a room needs both a horizontal and a vertical piece, and with either of our Sherwood bedsides.
