Our Sherwood range is built from solid oak and finished in a deep, warm stain that draws the grain out and gives every piece a quietly rustic character.
The pieces are substantial rather than delicate - generous tops, solid timber rather than veneered board, and a smooth finish that shows the natural variation in the wood.
Every drawer in the range is dovetailed. That means the drawer front is locked into the sides rather than just being dowelled or screwed. This type of joint stops a front working loose and coming away in your hand after a few years of pulling. It is not something you can see once the drawer is shut, which is precisely why cheaper furniture does without it.
Metal handles in a soft antique brass finish complete the look.

Our Sherwood Dark Solid Oak Medium Narrow Bookcase sits halfway between the low and the tall versions, giving you real capacity without towering over the room.
At a metre and a half tall it offers four levels of open storage while keeping the top shelf within easy reach, and the narrow width means it slots into an alcove beside a chimney breast or the gap between a door and a window.
That middle height is often the most useful. It is tall enough to hold a proper collection of books and ornaments, but the top stays low enough to use as a display surface for a lamp, a vase or a couple of framed photographs.
The back is solid oak panelling rather than hardboard, and the deep, dark stain carries through every surface. Small and tall versions share the same width, and our Sherwood wide bookcases cover a longer wall.
