Our Sherwood range is built from solid oak and finished in a deep, warm stain that draws the grain out and gives every piece a quietly rustic character.
The pieces are substantial rather than delicate - generous tops, solid timber rather than veneered board, and a smooth finish that shows the natural variation in the wood.
Every drawer in the range is dovetailed. That means the drawer front is locked into the sides rather than just being dowelled or screwed. This type of joint stops a front working loose and coming away in your hand after a few years of pulling. It is not something you can see once the drawer is shut, which is precisely why cheaper furniture does without it.
Metal handles in a soft antique brass finish complete the look.

Product Description
Our Sherwood Dark Solid Oak Single Headboard brings solid timber to a divan bed without replacing the bed itself.
The design matches the bed frames in the range - vertical slats set between square posts, with a shaped top rail and no carving anywhere. It is a shaker shape, plain and upright, and it gives a divan the finished look it otherwise lacks.
It fixes to the divan base on two struts, which are drilled at more than one height so the headboard can be set to suit the depth of your mattress. A deep mattress raises the sleeping surface considerably, and a headboard fitted at the wrong height is the most common reason one looks wrong in the room.
Our Sherwood chests, bedsides and blanket boxes carry the same dark stained oak, so a divan bed can still sit in a fully matched bedroom. Larger sizes are available to suit double, king and super king divans.
