Our Sherwood range is built from solid oak and finished in a deep, warm stain that draws the grain out and gives every piece a quietly rustic character.
The pieces are substantial rather than delicate - generous tops, solid timber rather than veneered board, and a smooth finish that shows the natural variation in the wood.
Every drawer in the range is dovetailed. That means the drawer front is locked into the sides rather than just being dowelled or screwed. This type of joint stops a front working loose and coming away in your hand after a few years of pulling. It is not something you can see once the drawer is shut, which is precisely why cheaper furniture does without it.
Metal handles in a soft antique brass finish complete the look.

Our Sherwood Dark Solid Oak Tall Narrow Bookcase gives you two metres of shelving on a footprint not much wider than a dining chair.
Five shelves plus the base make six levels of storage, which is a serious amount of room for books, records or a collection of ornaments. The narrow frame draws the eye upward, so a small room gains height rather than losing floor, and it fits the kind of alcove that defeats most furniture.
Standing two metres tall, it works best against a wall where it can be fixed securely, and it looks at its best in pairs either side of a fireplace or a doorway.
The back is solid oak panelling rather than hardboard, finished in the same deep, dark stain as the rest of the Sherwood range. Small and medium heights share the same width, and our Sherwood Tall Wide Bookcase gives you the same height at almost a metre across.
