Our Sherwood range is built from solid oak and finished in a deep, warm stain that draws the grain out and gives every piece a quietly rustic character.
The pieces are substantial rather than delicate - generous tops, solid timber rather than veneered board, and a smooth finish that shows the natural variation in the wood.
Every drawer in the range is dovetailed. That means the drawer front is locked into the sides rather than just being dowelled or screwed. This type of joint stops a front working loose and coming away in your hand after a few years of pulling. It is not something you can see once the drawer is shut, which is precisely why cheaper furniture does without it.
Metal handles in a soft antique brass finish complete the look.

Our Sherwood Dark Solid Oak Tall Wide Bookcase is the largest bookcase in the range, a proper library wall in a single piece.
Two metres tall and almost a metre wide, it has five shelves plus the base for six broad levels of storage. That is enough for a serious collection of books, with room left over for photographs, ornaments and the things that make a set of shelves look lived with rather than merely full.
A piece this size gives a room a focal point in the way a dresser or a fireplace does. It stands best against a wall where it can be fixed securely, and two side by side make an impressive run along a study or a long living room wall.
