Product Description
Our Small Grey Hat Sitting Gonk brings a classic Scandi charm to your Christmas decorating, in traditional red, grey and white.
Gonks come from the folklore of Scandinavia, where they are called Tomte in Sweden and Nisse in Norway and Denmark. These gnome-like beings were believed to guard homes and farms, especially around Christmas, bringing luck to households that treated them with respect. Neglect them and they might play mischievous tricks, so a bowl of porridge was left out for them at Christmas.
He wears a tall grey felt hat with a floppy tip, finished with blanket-stitched edging and a white embroidered snowflake, pulled down low over his round nose. A long, fluffy white faux fur beard falls over his deep red knitted body.
His long red and grey striped knitted legs dangle down to soft red boots, so he can perch on the edge of a mantelpiece, shelf, windowsill or sideboard.
Perfect for living rooms, hallways and kitchens, our Small Grey Hat Sitting Gonk suits traditional red, grey and Scandi-style Christmas schemes.
